Sweets.
Sweets are the type of food that we should eat with moderation. We must
eat them in smaller amounts. We shouldn’t give them up, but we shouldn’t eat
them very much. We can eat sweets without problem, but we must be careful
because they have got substances that if we eat them a lot they are damaging
our health. Eating sweets in a fair amount it’s good for us, it provides energy
and nutrients that enhance our mood. However if we eat a lot of sweets it will
be bad for our health. An excess would increase our cholesterol and probably we
would suffer a disease related with overweight and obesity. Our daily diet must
have a 55% of carbohydrates and only a 10% must come from the sweets.
The different types of sweets have different ingredients and sources, so
they have got their own history. The majority of the sweets that we eat were
known because the discovery of America. Others sweets were made with leftovers
from others sweets that already exist (for example nougat candy, made with
leftovers of almonds).
There are different types of sweets. In the past there were made in home
for own consumption, this sweets are “homemade sweets”. But nowadays one new
type of sweets exists , they are made in factories, they are called “industrial
sweets”.
All the types of sweets have got many calories, but “industrial sweets”
are the type of sweets with more calories. Now we will talk about this type of
sweets, “industrial sweets”.
INDUSTRIAL SWEETS
Industrial sweets (croissants, doughnuts, chocolate buns, chocolate puff
pastry buns, etc.) are very popular in candy shops, vending machines, bakeries
and supermarkets. These products have a sweet flavour, pleasant sentations and
they are a temptation for everybody.
The mayority of the industrial sweet are sugar, cornflour, eggs, fats of
different sources. They provide nutrients and calories. If they have chocolate, cream, etc., the
quantity of calories will increase very much. One piece of industrial sweets
can be a third or fourth part of the total amount that one person should eat in
a day.
People prefer buying industrial sweets because they are cheaper than
homemade sweets. Also we can find those everywhere. It is very popular to price
our children with them but I think that is so wrong because the amount of sugar
is can affect to their health.
HOMEMADE
SWEETS
Let me tell you
about "home cooking" or "homemade sweets" this are make in
our house with rudimentary tools, we don't use industrial machines. The
"industrial sweets" fatten a lot because it's has more preserve than
the "home sweets". The home sweets are don't difficult make. In the
families, the recipe pass from generation to generation, they are very
delicious. Preparate home sweets in house is very easy and simple, but people
prefer buy industrial sweets because are very cheap and in the supermarket there
are very much variety.
